The DCAS Diversity & EEO Office is responsible for the effective implementation of initiatives related to maintaining a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace and ensuring that the agency's services are provided in an inclusive manner that reflects the communities we serve. Through its initiatives, the Diversity & EEO Office handles the intake and investigation of EEO-related complaints, processing of reasonable accommodation requests, facilitation of EEO, diversity and inclusion training, and workforce analysis. The EEO Investigator will work under the direction of the DCAS Diversity and EEO Officer to investigate complaints of discrimination, process requests for reasonable accommodation, provide training to agency employees on their rights and responsibilities under Federal, State, and City EEO-related laws and policies, and support agency diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The responsibilities of the EEO Investigator will include but not be limited to the following: - Provides guidance to employees on the City's EEO Policy, internal complaint procedures, and reasonable accommodation request procedures. - Conducts interviews of all relevant parties to a discrimination complaint, including the complainant, the respondent, witnesses, and any relevant staff. Investigations may require travel to DCAS facilities in any of the five boroughs. - Analyzes complaints, develops investigative plans, conducts fact-finding, reviews documents, conducts related research, prepares related correspondence, and submits confidential reports containing investigative findings. - Processes reasonable accommodation requests and maintains related records. - Inputs complaints, reasonable accommodations, and related inquiries into the City's EEO Database. - Assists with the coordination and completion of reports mandated by federal, state, and local agencies, such as the Equal Employment Practices Commission (EEPC). - Assists in the analysis of workforce data to identify trends and best practices for agency diversity, equity, and inclusion. - May assist in the implementation of agency diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, as needed.
