Job Description

Overview We’re hiring a Training Coordinator in Washington, DC. The Training Coordinator at CYM will support the Learning and Development (L&D) team by creating, delivering, and refining training content and programs that align with CYM’s core values and operational goals. The Training Coordinator works with the Learning & Development team to ensure that all training collateral are accurate, up-to-date and effective to support continuous operational excellence. This role will assist with developing learning tools and maintaining training documents, content, and more, and will help improve training effectiveness based on relevant data, employee feedback, and workforce productivity to address operational needs in a timely manner. The role is based in our HQ Office in DC and reports to the Senior Director of Learning and Development. Company Core Values & Expectations: Vibrant – Abundantly happy, fun, passionate, playful, and kind Integrity – Honest, caring, real, and always striving to do the right thing Belonging – Work as a team to make people feel welcome Energy – Active, proactive, and work hard to make things happen Seize the Moment – Make the most of every opportunity by saying yes, trying new things, and being original Your role and impact Your responsibilities include: Creating and refining training materials, content and tools Creating extraordinary moments for team members and guests Contributing ideas and feedback to the business Supporting and lifting up communities and neighborhoods Core responsibilities Contribute to engaging and effective training tools for new hires, current team members, and emerging leaders to enhance employee performance Refine training materials, including manuals, presentations, online resources, and job aids Support the implementation of company-wide training initiatives, including new software rollouts, new menu rollouts, operational changes, and new shop openings Ensure training programs meet business needs and align with the “CYM Way” Address training needs and align with departmental and company objectives Monitor and track training participation and effectiveness, gathering feedback and data for continuous improvement Serve as a resource to support the L&D team Collaborate with the L&D team to maintain and improve the Learning Management System (LMS) and other training technologies Curate and maintain a library of career development resources for all team members Stay current with industry best practices and trends to enhance training effectiveness Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects CYM’s values Qualifications 1-2 years experience in training, learning facilitation, or coaching within restaurants or hospitality (required) Passionate about food, hospitality, and people development with a strong service-oriented mindset Experience executing plans or projects with follow-up and adapting/prioritizing work in rapid change Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Comfort with technology and learning management systems; willingness to learn new tools Ability to adapt training approaches to different learning styles and needs Team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to model CYM’s core values and lead by example Benefits and compensation Competitive base salary: $65,000 with 10% annual bonus opportunity Opportunities for growth and development as CYM expands Positive, people-first culture with team support and a fun environment Benefits for full-time staff (averaging 30+ hours/week): health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with 4% employer match; paid vacation and paid parental leave; Employee Assistance Program; free staff meals; free fitness and wellness classes; language classes and Duolingo reimbursement; team-building activities, and more We provide equal opportunities to everyone who works for us and every applicant.
