Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring a WI or compact RN license and strong cardiac experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Primary patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacemaker, defibrillator, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow cases
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4
• Shift is 12-hour nights (1900-0730), with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call or call back requirements for routine scheduling
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR, requires recent experience
• Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover
• Responsibilities include managing a range of cardiac and med/surg overflow patients in a stepdown setting
• Must be able to work independently and manage change well
• Scrub color is flexible; any color permitted
• Must be prepared for teamwork within a resilient, adaptable environment
• Low census hours may result in being placed on call, with callback pay if required to return
• Orientation hours are not guaranteed; set hours are guaranteed weekly except during closed holidays

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must pass EKG test within first week of hire
• At least 1 year of strong cardiac experience in Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Tele experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
• At least one completed travel assignment required
• 1 year of recent Epic charting experience required
