Through our Meals on Wheels program, we provide nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks that empower older adults to live independently at home. Volunteers are the heart of this mission, and we are seeking a dynamic Volunteer Coordinator to help engage, support, and grow our volunteer team. Employment Type: Full Time | Monday - Friday, 8a-5p
Pay Rate: $21/hr+
Location: Topeka, KS
The
Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers who deliver meals and provide companionship to our clients. This role serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers, ensuring they feel valued, connected, and supported in their service. The Volunteer Coordinator also works closely with staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery of Meals on Wheels services.
Key Responsibilities - Recruit, screen, and onboard new volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program
- Coordinate volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for daily meal deliveries
- Communicate regularly with volunteers to keep them informed, engaged, and recognized for their service
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, participation, and compliance requirements

Qualifications What we're looking for: - High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in human services, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
- Experience working with volunteers, community engagement, or program coordination strongly preferred
- Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to serving older adults
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
