If you are a Welder looking for an opportunity to grow and develop professionally, Emerson Discrete Automation has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Brenham, TX you will perform manual-, semi-automatic-, and robotic welding of process connections to common assembly's, according to our quality requirements, specifications, and certification requirements.
Typical working schedule Mon-Thur 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: \n - Welds production and more difficult prototype instrumentation piece parts and specialized customer requests in various materials including stainless steel, precious and semi-precious metals using various types of welding processes which may include TIG and /or MIG.
\n - Welds on high cost, precious materials such as high nickel content Alloy, Monel, Tantalum for special production needs and maintains certification in these specialized product areas.
\n - Provides welding expertise support to other welders.
\n - May train other welders to help them obtain necessary certification.
\n - Advises Engineering on technical welding aspects of new units and fixtures including set-ups.
\n - Trouble shoots problem-welding areas.
\n - Welds must pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements per individual product.
\n - Must maintain individual welding qualification and certification per product requirements, which ranges from annual certification to ongoing qualification based on percentage of product volume.
\n - Sets up fixtures and lays out work for production and prototype piece parts.
\n - Defines equipment settings based on specific product needs and establishes process parameters
\n - Provides welding services to other product lines in other departments as required.
\n - May support development of new welding techniques and processes.
\n - May communicate with outside welding resources or vendors.
\n - Performs work of a miscellaneous nature as required.

For This Role, You Will Need: \n - A minimum of 3 years of welding experience, OR B) Verified completion of a Welding certificate program and a minimum one (1) year of welding experience
\n - Must obtain and maintain applicable company welding certifications.
\n - On the Job Training Manual Welding is provided and must be completed successfully.
\n - Ability to work in a standing position whilst using welding equipment
\n - Willingness and ability to work in the required shift pattern
\n - Two previous work experience references of prior employment and a Certificate/Declaration of Good Conduct (VOG)
\n - Fluent in English (reading and writing)
\n - Ability to complete basic math functions (addition/subtraction/multiplication/division)
\n - Basic computer skills
\n - Ability to read and understand production shop orders and instructions
\n - Ability to lift 40 pounds intermittently
\n - Ability to sit and stand daily up to 10 hours
\n - Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: \n - High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
\n - Experience in precision instrument welding is preferred.
\n - Related manufacturing welding experience
